SMART Curb Collaborative City Showcase: Boston

August 22, 2024

Project Summary

Boston’s SMART project seeks to establish an automated systems integration process by which street sign photography can be translated into regulatory language and transformed into CDS format. This will result in a citywide, public-facing map and database of real-time curb regulations. Through this project, Boston will pilot the use of sensor based and connected vehicle technology to ingest curb use data into CDS, and use this data to make informed curb management decisions.
