SMART Curb Collaborative Showcase: Miami-Dade County

August 22, 2024

Project Summary

In dense urban areas like Miami-Dade County, the surge in delivery activity has led to intense competition for curbside space, with various vehicles such as trucks, mopeds, and e-bikes often clashing. To reduce congestion and emissions, Miami-Dade County aims to promote last-mile deliveries using the smallest, cleanest means. This project will establish managed curbside “hubs” to improve safety and efficiency for all delivery vehicles, while also gathering data to inform future interventions. Additionally, it will raise awareness of opportunities to transition from gig work to stable employment and access e-mobility options.
